After playing open mic nights at his high school in Amsterdam, Nicolaas’ life turned into a teenage dream at the age of 13 when he became part of the Dutch boyband ‘MainStreet’ followed by 5 years of craziness, playing sold out tours, opening for Justin Bieber and releasing a number one album. However, in 2016, he woke up from this dream and wondered about the next chapter of his musical adventure. During his teens he developed a passion for music production and became a wallflower in the studio observing o ther producers. He then slowly started to produce and write songs for different artists which resulted in a publishing deal with Universal music/Presidential Suite.
During those years he also drew a lot of inspiration from his Indo roots resulting in songs filled with humorous stories or ‘little fairytales’ as he likes to call them. Feeling the longing to be back on stage, in 2021, he formed his live band, ‘The Hondos,’ paying tribute to his grandparents’ Indo Rock band and after releasing two EP’s, Nicolaa s is determined to explore the musical realm even further. So let’s talk about that “happily ever after” business. Is it a fairy tale, a myth, or just some wild fantasy? Who knows. Maybe we’re already knee – deep in the so – called “happily ever after,” and we didn’t even notice. You see, Nicolaas may have had a taste of the teenage dream with ‘MainStreet,’ but he’s got a lot more stories to tell. So if happily ever after really is a myth, we’re already living it.
